Enterprise Data Transfer System (Globus) Unavailable Tomorrow Morning 10/24 During Maintenance

Scheduled for Oct 24, 10:30 - 11:30 EDT

Scheduled

Enterprise Data Transfer System (Globus) will be unavailable Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. ET for required database upgrades. The maintenance window was determined by the vendor (Globus).

Impact: All Globus services will pause, including Auth, Transfer, Groups, Flows, Search, Timers, Compute, GlobusID, and Action Providers. During the window, you cannot log in to applications that rely on Globus Auth. That includes the Globus web app, the command line interface, third-party applications, and web portals that use Globus for login or data management.

What happens to your work:
• Transfers: Transfers in progress when the downtime begins resume from their last checkpoint when service returns.
• Timers: A Timer run scheduled during the downtime executes as soon as service returns. If several runs fall within the window, only one executes. The exception is runs from Timers that reach their end criteria during the downtime.
• Flows: A flow run that tries to start a new step during the downtime fails.
• Compute: Tasks submitted before the downtime are available when service returns.

What to do: After service returns, check the status of your Timer and flow runs to confirm they completed as expected. To avoid failed flow steps, plan to start new flows after 11:30 a.m. ET.
