PittNet wired and Wi-Fi service will be affected in several locations during brief network maintenance scheduled for this Friday, May 23, from 9 to 11 p.m.
Each of the following areas will lose data connection for about 5 minutes within the outage window: • Bellefield Hall (Floor 5) • Benedum Hall (Basement, Ground Level, Floors 1, 2, and 11) • Biomedical Science Tower 3 (Floors 1, 3, 9, and 10) • Forbes Tower (Floor 5) • Hillman Library (Floor 3) • Lawrence Hall (Floor 2) • Mervis Hall (Floors 1 and 3) • Music Building (Basement) • Scaife Hall (Floors 2 and 8) • Salk Hall (Floor 3) • Schenley Place (Floor 5) • Wesley W. Posvar Hall (Floors 3 and 5)
This maintenance is part of vendor-required best practices to ensure the continued security, stability, and reliability of older network hardware components. Pitt IT has completed checks to ensure that the hardware is ready for the maintenance and will be actively engaged with the vendor throughout the maintenance period.
