Maintenance on the University’s Central Directory Service (CDS) and Cognos ― the University’s tool for enterprise reporting and ad hoc data querying ― will briefly affect several enterprise systems during the standard downtime period from 11 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, through 7 a.m. on Sunday, March 26.
Users will not be able to access the Cognos web interface or reporting functionality for about one hour while maintenance is in progress, and jobs scheduled to run during the maintenance period will not be completed.
In addition, these and other services may be unavailable for up to 45 minutes during the maintenance period:
• Account Self-Service (accounts.pitt.edu), including password changes and new account activations • Find People (find.pitt.edu) • Panther Central ID Center, including new ID card activations • Parchment Transcript Request system • Some online help forms at technology.pitt.edu • UPMC health plan information via MyHealth Access
Affected systems will be returned to service earlier if work is completed ahead of schedule. This maintenance is necessary to maintain the stability and reliability of CDS and Cognos.
