ChemDraw Cloud and Signals Notebook Individual Edition will be retired by the vendor on Tuesday, March 25. Pitt Information Technology will instead offer current license holders the newer Signals ChemDraw app, which includes Signals Notebook. Download details are available at https://software.pitt.edu/. The upgrade provides the same intuitive cloud-based features with the added convenience of single sign-on capabilities.

Please be aware that access to accounts and data stored within the retired platforms will be deleted and unrecoverable. To continue using ChemDraw products, users should back up and migrate data before March 25. Please note that users will need to deactivate their current accounts before activating their new ChemDraw license.

1. Back up and migrate data:
o Launch ChemDraw
o Go into the notebook you intend to export
o In the menu, select Export to ZIP
o Revvity provides full instructions for backing up data and exporting to ZIP

2. Deactivate current user account:
o Launch ChemDraw
o Go to Help > Activate ChemDraw
o Click the Deactivate button to release your license

3. Activate new user account:
o Go to https://software.pitt.edu/
o Search “ChemDraw” using the Search Software search bar
o Select ChemDraw (Windows) (64 bit) or ChemDraw (Macintosh) (64 bit)
o Follow Installation Instructions

Completing these steps is crucial to maintain uninterrupted access to ChemDraw. Pitt IT recommends activating new accounts in advance, as license assignments can take as long one hour to complete.

Pitt IT has notified current ChemDraw users about this upcoming change. Please call the Technology Help Desk at +1-412-624-HELP (4357) if you have any questions about this change or the migration process.
