Scheduled

Pitt Digital will conduct scheduled network maintenance March 9 and March 11. During these periods, customers may experience brief interruptions to GlobalProtect VPN services.

Maintenance will take place from 9 to 11 p.m. on both evenings. During each window, customers on the regional and Oakland campuses may experience up to two brief interruptions to wired or wireless connectivity through GlobalProtect. Each interruption is expected to last less than one minute.

Impacts may include a momentary disconnect followed by an automatic reconnection to GlobalProtect or a short delay when logging in.

In addition, from 9 to 11 p.m. March 9, backup connectivity circuits for regional campuses and network phone services will be upgraded. No service disruptions are expected during that work.

Pitt Digital will be monitoring the process, and in the event of any significant changes or delays, updates will be posted to https://status.pitt.edu. This work is part of ongoing efforts to modernize the campus network and maintain security, stability and reliability. These maintenance periods were scheduled during spring break to minimize impact on the University community.

Please submit a ticket to the Technology Help Desk at https://digital.pitt.edu or call +1-412-624-HELP (4357) if you experience any issues or have questions related to these maintenance periods. This effort is being led by Dan Mahaven, Pitt Digital Operations.
